MARIO VON HOLTEN – CH

Mario Von Holten studied classical percussion at the Zurich University of the Arts from 2004 to 2009 and graduated with distinction with a teaching and concert diploma.

After his classical training, he attended the "drummerscollective" in New York in 2010 and 2013 to further his education on the drumset.

Mario Von Holten plays in various band formations and can be found throughout Switzerland. He won the Small Prix Walo in 2011 with the Chris Conz Trio and the "Swiss Jazz Award" in 2013.

He is also a member of the Philharmonia Zurich, the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra, the Zurich Chamber Orchestra and the Musikkollegium Winterthur. In addition to various orchestral and chamber music projects, he also regularly plays musicals at Theater11, the MAAG Halle, Theater St. Gallen and the Walensee stage.

Mario Von Holten teaches percussion at the Konservatorium Zürich music school.
