Dave Ruosch – CH

David "Dave" Ruosch is a freelance pianist, composer, songwriter, and music educator who specializes in traditional blues and jazz piano music. During his studies at the Zurich Conservatory (1984-1988), Ruosch was hired as a pianist and arranger by the rock 'n' roll band "Terry & The Hot Sox" and as a drummer by "Eric Lee".

In 2012, he was awarded the Swiss Jazz Award along with his long-time stage partner Christina Jaccard. In 2009, he won the Vienna Blues Award with the band "Norbert Schneiders R & B Caravan". Throughout Europe, he is considered a top-notch stylist and authentic representative of boogie-woogie, blues, stride, and swing. In addition to performing extensively with his trio, as a soloist, and with international bands and star musicians, Dave Ruosch teaches jazz piano at the MKZ (Music School Conservatory Zurich) and is a lecturer in specialized didactics and traditional jazz piano at the Zurich University of the Arts.

In addition to his intensive collaborations with singers Lisa Berg and Christina Jaccard or the swing quartet "Benny's From Heaven", Dave Ruosch maintains various jazz duos with saxophonists Christoph Grab, Bruno Spoerri, or 7-string guitarist Dani Solimine. But he can also be heard as a soloist, for example, at the "piano off stage" festival in Lucerne. In the fall of 2015, his second "Dave Ruosch Trio" CD, recorded live at Jazzland in Vienna, was released. The third "Dave Ruosch Trio" CD, featuring guest New York guitarist Alex Schultz, was released in the spring of 2019.

With his wide range of unmistakable identity, Dave Ruosch is one of the rare pianists of his generation and genre who leaves a lasting impression on many formations with his skill and musical sensitivity. As a chanson composer, he sets to music and arranges the high and Swiss German texts of Lisa Berg.
